Roomz

I just discovered about Roomz the other day, when looking for a lower priced alternative to Crestrons TSS-7-W-S-LB kit their room scheduling touch screen.

Roomz a Swiss company and from what I understand as designed and manufactured in Switzerland as well.

Roomz display seems like the best low priced alternative on the market right now. It uses the same screen technology as the Amazon Kindle. The Roomz Display seems to be a easy to deploy solution. By pairing up with Exchange, Office 365, Google Calendar or IBM Lotus, you displays communicates directly with you bookings in you calendar. Any alterations you wish to perform, such as alter room name, update cycle etc its done through the management tools on Roomz webpage.

Through the management tools on their site you can maximize efficiency of you meeting rooms, because you have an opportunity to extract the statistics on usage of the rooms. The screen is unfortunately not have a touchscreen, but again this saves alot of battery time. The already low energy screen technology that the display uses saves a lot of battery adding to the fact that it´s not a touch screen keeps the battery time up to 2 years.
In comparison GetJoan (a competitor of Roomz) battery only lasts time of up to 12 weeks. then you need to take them down from the walls and charge them.

Roomz has now also released a Roomz sensor, which basically is a motion sensor.
The sensor will automatically cancel any meetings if there are no turn up for the meeting room, while this will increase the effective usage of the meeting rooms, it it will also give an increased statistics.

Its easy installing the display and Sensor, tape on the backside of the screen onto the wall and connect through existing Wi-Fi network (Open, WEP, WPA2 and WPA2 Enterprise are supported) (so no cables wanted).

Secure communication protocols and encryption. Plus, with their on-premise server solution, your data is kept inside your own network.
